this is an original design for a gecko-inspired speaker that i made in my circuits and electronics: analog and digital class. it includes a printed circuit board that i designed using autodesk’s eagle program. it also includes a bluetooth module and a potentiometer that controls volume. i did all the soldering on my printed circuit board and burned myself only a few times. the light feature is made using the adafruit circuit playground, and i programmed it to display a pattern that changes brightness depending on how loud the speakers are.
medium: wood mdf board, acrylic, custom electronics.
dimensions: 10" x 16" x 3".
this is an original design for a lamp i built in my design and technology class. the idea of using cubic shapes for the light enclosure came to me as I was looking at a stack of rubik’s cubes on my desk, and i was inspired to make the base of the lamp look like bubbles to contrast the cubic light enclosure. the lights run on an arduino board that i programmed to flash specific patterns, too.
medium: wood, metal, acrylic, custom electronics.
dimensions: 6" x 16" x 10".
