this original design, inspired by the works of james cutler, is an eco-friendly house located on yerba buena island in the san francisco bay. it was an in-class project. the clients in our program were a couple: a musician and an artist. they requested a performance hall, music studio, art studio, sculpture garden, and living area. some of the eco-friendly features on the house include deciduous trees in front of the southern facing double-paned windows, rammed earth walls, and being built into the hill on the site for improved insulation, reducing the energy expended on climate control. 
medium: model- 2-ply, balsa wood, foam core, foliage, tacky glue. floor plans and section- ink on vellum, prisma colored pencils.
